Quite an experience, this time around, was my first "Geophysical Institute Christmas Party." Here is a picture of the official G.I. "Clap-o-meter"---your guess is as good as mine as to the correct pronunciation. :) It had a scale of decibels--and I--for one--thought it was pretty cool. :)
And here is a picture of Fred, rendering "Alternate Versions of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.'" I was giggling, off and on, for a week afterward. :)
And here was something I really did not expect: This is a picture of Dr. Roger Smith--the Director of the Geophysical Institute. I have known for some time, now, that Dr. Smith was a very friendly, and very classy, individual. What I did not know--was that he was both willing, and able, to publically sing Christmas carols in a beautiful, "Home Counties tenor." -Like I said--that was something I did _not_ expect. :)
And Last But Not Least. . . .
And here is a little gem of photo credited to John Hagert, and the Daily News-Miner:
:)
Oh--I actually know a little something about this photo. Mr. Nielsen actually knows these two gentlemen--and told me that they were sitting there, getting intoxicated, and then up comes this juvenile male moose-dude. It just made sense to take a picture of it. :)
