This one didn't come out so well. I thought that this picture was pretty interesting. It shows the truck I own, flanked by my two neighbors--_both_, oddly enough, from . . . Texas! What makes this even more interesting, is that the white truck in the foreground ("Don't mind me--I'm just taking a picture." :) )--is _also_ owned by someone from Texas. He told me that it was an "invasion." He then said things like, "Burn all the fossil fuels you want--Alaska will only melt all the faster." Then he went on to talk about physics. I was truly surprised at his level of knowledge, until he starting talking about how the Tunguska "blast" was caused by Tesla "feeding" energy into the ionosphere, Hammel anti-gravity devices. . . . Yeah. -He'll do just fine, "up here." :)
While our advisor was away in Germany, we [Fred and I] decided to have some fun. :) Physicists bent on mischief: Be afraid, be very afraid. :)This was put on our advisor's door; the caption read, "Antonius--Master of Magnetism." :)
And the caption for this one read, "Antonius makes a point at a substorm meeting." If you are in the field, you will doubtless see the humor in that one. :)
-Unfortunately, no one got any pictures of the GIANT "Pikachu doll" that "replaced" him in his chair when he was away--complete with a green plastic "bubble pipe!" :)
I think that this one is positively classic. :) Originally, this had been a picture of polar bears. Progressively, over a period of months, we [Katariina, and--to a much lesser extent--I] started to "replace the heads." From left to right, we have: Osama Bin-Ladin, NAV, Sarah Jessica-Parker, and some Scandinavian skier-type-dude. Every time I look at NAV's head on a polar bear, I burst out laughing. -Looks pretty good, too--doesn't it? :)
And here are some pictures of some moose-dudes. In the first one, one can _just_ barely see "momma-moose"--off to the right, 'n stuff. In the second one, she is more clearly visible. She seemed to be gettin' a little "antsy," about our propinquity, 'n stuff.
On to yet *MORE* Al-ass-ka pictures, 'n stuff. (Man, John---how many a' dese' thangs you got, 'n stuff?)
