Another inversion over the power plant. (This was on a different day than the previous one.)
I was trying to capture another inversion in this next pic; it didn't come out too well. -It looks pretty cold, doesn't it? :) I'm sorry the next pic didn't come out too well. I had to take it at night, and with my "cheapo camera." :P I wanted to show you the "style of snow removal" they employ at the UAF (University of Alaska Fairbanks) campus. They don't block off traffic, or anything like that: They just pile snow up in the middle of the road with giant machines--while traffic is trying to get through: 76 Olds I thought that this next one was really cool. :) It is a Christmas decoration, in "The Globe Room" (so named, for obvious reasons :) ) of the Geophysical Institute. More than one person commented that the band was wrapped around the northern regions---like an auroral oval. . . . On to more Alaska pics.
