Again, I HAVE to get a better camera. . . . I was walking (I don't remember why I was walking, but I was walking. :) ) along, and I looked over my shoulder--and WHOA!!--INCREDIBLE view!! A lambent, bloated red orb, just setting behind the International Arctic Research Center:
The fact that the sun appeared as a bloated, blood-red disc, was due to the smoke in air from the 2004 forest fire season---which was beyond horrendous. This was REALLY a cool pic. I just have a bad camera, 'n stuff.. . .
A really thick door---for dealing with them, thar Alaskan winters:
(Two shots) Autumn colors, 9/20/04 Monday:
I don't really remember just why I took the following two pictures---it was probably because of some cool "inversion effect"--with the mountains (the Alaska range---about 100 miles away. . . .) really high on the horizon, and yet only visible through a low-lying gap in the clouds.
I have GOT to get a better camera.
On to more Alaska pics.
