11/25/05 A beautiful sunset:
11/29/05 I don't know what this thing was---but I watched the sun rise through it, and then continue onwards (while waiting for a bus).
There are phenomena here that don't seem to be seen anywhere else on Earth. (. . .)
12/1/05 I can't remember this guy's name . . . (or what he was doing---some presentation of some sort in the "Globe Room" (So called, because of this GIANT globe---donated by some dude or dudes, or something (It's actually pretty cool. :) ).) at the GI, or something.) was it "Eric?" Anyway, he looked really sharp---so I thought I'd like, take his picture, or something. :) He was a really cool dude; he isn't here anymore. (. . .)
(Proofreading this, I realize that I had better specify that by "no longer here," I mean, like, no longer at this school, 'n stuff. :) ;) -To the best of my knowledge, he's like, in perfect health, 'n stuff. :) ;) (!!) :) ;) )
12/4/05 A crack--that formed in a tree near the Chapel, from the EXTREME cold. I had heard of this---accounts of it from world war II. . . . That was in a "Russian winter," though. (!) ~:)
Oh, the "color" is not some sort of "photographic effect." -It gets (and stays) dark---in December, "up here." (. . .)
12/5/05 Speaking of dark. . . .
A cool effect of snow on the trees, at night---at the "old Doggie Park":
:) :)
12/10/05 Someone--and I'm not going to say who ( :) )--drew a RHINO!! on the chalkboard in the basement of Mather Library. ( :) ;) ) Well, this is what it "evolved" into:
:) :)
12/17/05 I'm guessing one doesn't see this sort of thing much in Miami:
:) :)
At first, this guy seemed really rather suspicious--that I was taking a picture of him, 'n stuff. Then, I waved---and everybody relaxed. :) :) Alaskans are, in general, a really rather friendly and easygoing lot. :) :) -As I'm sure you can imagine, if your broken down at 40 below, people WILL stop for you. :) :) (In fact, I believe that [that] is in our law, 'n stuff. . . .)
On to more Alaska pics.
