   The caption for the following picture reads, "5/23/02 view from Finger Mountain".  Nice view of alpine tundra--actually from the area to the north of Finger Mountain.

   The caption for the following picture reads, "5/23/02 Finger Rock in distance." That tiny little nubbin to the right of center, is actually Finger Mountain.  Pointing directly towards Fairbanks, it was--yes, I'm serious :)--used for navigation by bush pilots, prior to the age of instrumentation.
