There were certainly lots of interesting craft about. :) This is a "water dragon"---made of linked blocks of styrofoam. -Now that was creative. :)
This was a funny one. :) There was a group of guys traveling down the river in the bed of an old pickup truck. (I had heard one of them say that they had just found it by the side of the road--and decided to make it into an entry in the regatta. :) ) (They were the ones shown "bumper locked" with my craft, earlier in the page.) They had been fighting pretty much everyone, all the way down the river. Well, here in this picture, it showed the results---capsized, and with no apparent way to get their "boat" out of the water. . . .
Comin' in. -Listing pretty badly to front starboard ((at least) one of our barrels was taking on water), and our Union Jack starting to come loose (next year we have got to fasten it with something better than duct tape (!!!!))---but comin' in.

Beached
This one doesn't really fit here---but I didn't know where else to put it. :) This is a picture of the little train that they run around the park. It has a very interesting design---that I don't know why isn't used more often, in both diesel and steam engines. The waste product(s) from the two outer cylinders, are fed into a central cylinder. This way, the steam (or diesel) can be "used twice." -[It is] VERY efficient. However, this thing used to throw "raw cinders" into the air--and the first time it was run in the park, it set every single roof along its route afire. :) (Note: This had nothing whatsoever to do with the "three cylinder design. . . .)
On to a happy shiny ending. On to a not so not so happy shiny ending.
