He–well, she, actually (I play female characters—it seems to make the game, easier, somehow. . . .)–had . . . an interesting journey, at points.
I killed either a chameleon, or a doppleganger (I can't remember just which.), and–not wanting to change, just then, anyway ( ;) )–I left it there. Then, whilst sacrificing at the altar, I noticed this troll ("T") running around. I thought, gee—it's a little early for such a powerful monster—and started to prepare. I then realized that he was called "Fluffy"—and was killing other monsters, 'n stuff. (!) Oooooh! My PET ate that doppleganger corpse. (!!) Wow. Was Fluffy ever something. (He was an olog-hai. (!)) Fluffy went around, proceeding to kill–and EAT–the guards, shopkeepers, the priest, the Oracle. . . . :) :) Fluffy was pretty much indestructible. (Even if he had died, he would've regenerated. (!!)) Then, sadly, MANY levels later, I hear this "Burrrrp!"—followed by "You have a sad feeling for a moment. It passes." Grrrr. Some purple worm ATE (and digested) Fluffy. That made me mad. Fluffy was about THE BEST pet I had EVER had. The only one better was a master mind flayer named, I think, Butt Fungus. Ol' Butt Fungus tried to suck the brain out of a fire elemental, in Gehennom. –Can we say toasted mind flyer? :p :( My wizard died, twice. :P :( I didn't know (or had forgotten) the trick with the amulet of unchanging (FORTUNATELY, I had an amulet of life saving (!!!!))—and I got "slimed." :P :( I had forgotten, how dangerous those . . . beggars are. :P :( Then, I got hemmed in, and blinded, in Asmodeus's fortress. I ended up using my only wish of the game: a cockatrice corpse. Still, I couldn't get OUT of there, before I like, died, 'n stuff. The astral plane was a NIGHTMARE. I put on a ring of conflict, losing Odin's guardian angel in the process, just to BARELY make it to the altar, 'n stuff. I got a break, though.
