DIRECTIONS TO THE "HOUSE OF HISTORY"

IN THE VILLAGE OF KINDERHOOK, NY:

 

From the North:

Take the Northway (I-87) SOUTH, to Exit 1E, I-90 East, Albany. Follow I-90 East to Exit 12 (Route 9, Hudson). Take a RIGHT onto Route 9 South. Follow Route 9 South approximately 4.5 miles, to the intersection of Routes 9 & 9H.

Follow the "To the Village of Kinderhook" directions below.

 

From Southern New York:

Please note: There are many other routes from the south that will take you into Kinderhook, NY…this was decidedly the most "camper" or "trailer" friendly!

Take NYS Thruway (I-87) NORTH to Exit 21A (I-90 East, Boston). Take I-90 EAST, to Exit B-1 (Albany). Go through the toll booths, and take Exit 12 (Route 9, Hudson) IMMEDIATELY to your right. At the bottom of the ramp, turn LEFT onto Route 9 SOUTH. Follow Route 9 South approximately 4.5 miles, to the intersection of Routes 9 & 9H.

From Western New York:

Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) EAST, to Exit 24 (Albany/Saratoga). Through the toll booths, stay on I-90 EAST. Follow I-90 East to Exit 12, Hudson. Take a RIGHT onto Route 9 South. Follow Route 9 South approximately 4.5 miles, to the intersection of Routes 9 & 9H.

From the Taconic State Parkway:

Take the Taconic Parkway NORTH, to the end (NYS Thruway/I-90). Take the Thruway (I-90) WEST, to exit B-1 (Albany/I-90 West). Go through the toll booths, and take Exit 12 (Route 9, Hudson) IMMEDIATELY to your right. At the bottom of the ramp, turn LEFT onto Route 9 SOUTH. Follow Route 9 South approximately 4.5 miles, to the intersection of Routes 9 & 9H.

From Connecticut & Massachusetts:

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) WEST, toward Albany, NY. This becomes the NYS Thruway (I-90) at the New York State line. Continue on Thruway WEST, to exit B-1 (Albany). Go through the toll booths, and take Exit 12 (Route 9, Hudson) IMMEDIATELY to your right. At the bottom of the ramp, turn LEFT onto Route 9 SOUTH. Follow Route 9 South approximately 4.5 miles, to the intersection of Routes 9 & 9H.

To the Village of Kinderhook:

There is now a Traffic Rotary at this intersection! You have two choices to get to the Village...

By-Pass: Enter the rotary, and take the "exit" for Route 9H South. Follow Route 9H South approximately 1.3 miles, take the ramp to get back on Route 9 South. Keep RIGHT at the fork in this ramp, and the next ramp. Follow Route 9 South to the Village of Kinderhook. Follow signs to the muster field.

OR

Business Route: Enter the rotary, taking the "exit" for Route 9 South. Follow Route 9 South, past the Village of Valatie, to the Village of Kinderhook. Follow the signs to the muster field at 16 BROAD ST. (Route 9).

 

ALL VEHICLES SHOULD ENTER FROM THE FRONT ENTRANCE TO THE FIELD.

If you are camping, a Muster Coordinator will direct you to the proper camping area.
