-Just another of those "weird things you see in Alaska"---some sort of official University of Alaska Fairbanks vehicle, with countless banana peels "threaded" over the antenna. . . .

This one was taken near the quarry on the southern extent of the property of the Fairbanks International Airport.  -You can just see--the moose-dude.

These next two are kind of sad---they are taken from Allyson *********'s farwell party.  She left the G.I. (Geophysical Institute) for greener pastures--a utilities company.  :)

I told her to smile for the pic---and she did pretty well--right up to just before I snapped the shutter.  At that point, she said, "I can't." and bowed her head.  :(

Here is a slightly more cheerful one.  She is opening her presents:

I don't think I said the right things to her--that final time I got to speak with her.  (I, not infrequently, don't.  :P ) I told her how much I would miss somebody so almost astoundingly competent.  She replied--a mite stiffly, I believe--that she hoped the assisstant who would replace her in the office would provide the same level of customer service.  I take from that that she wanted (and expected) a far more "emotional" send-off.  -I can't even imagine getting emotional about somewhere I had worked.  Oh, well---live and learn. . . .

This picture was taken at "Cold Spot Feeds"--a store specializing in sled doggie stuff.  It's really cool---I get to bring Rosie into the store.  Both of us quite enjoy that.  :)

I only meant to capture the "no pooping" sign (which I thought was quite clever--and amusing)---the shot of the Alaska state flag, flying in the breeze, was an unexpected benefit.

On to more Alaska pics.
