The following plant (There are two pots, now---but these two "shoots" (for lack of a better thing to call them) used to be in the same planter, 'n stuff. . . .) has got to hold the record for "the world's toughest plant." (I had a lupine that just wouldn't quit (It had lost over 85% of it's "body mass"---and yet just wouldn't die!)---but then Laura took over the watering of it, and that managed to polish off my year-old lupine. . . . :( ) It is a tropical plant, and yet peeps on various occasions have left doors open---resulting in this plant-dude being frozen. (!!) -And yet, the thing kept springing back. Not too long after this picture was taken, all it's leaves died due to some visible, tent-forming insect infestation. -And yet, it managed to survive even that!! In fact, it lived for an entire year---long enought to bloom again. -And as of Sunday, 2/20/05, these two plant-dudes are still going strong--although the one on the right is presently looking a little peaky.
The following two pictures are of a positively GORGEOUS Alaskan sunset. This one persisted for some time---I was working in the office, and it kept drawing my attention long enough for me to take these pictures of it. :)
These pictures just don't do it credit, though. -In the first one, on gets a bit of reflection off of the window in the hall, and in the second one, the exposure isn't quite right--and it ended up being a little blurry. -I honestly don't know whether to blame the cheap camera or my, um . . . "limited photography skills," for this one. :)
-Gotta' love that "Alaskan grammar!" :)
Fiesty!
:)
On to more Alaska pics.
