I thought that this one was really cool.  A bored someone (waiting for one of the University of Alaska's "oh-so-efficient" ( :) ) (and "timely" :) ) shuttles)--made a little snowman.

Nice spelling!! -Given that this one was engraved in metal, it took some time to correct this one.  -I guess they really should'a' had the spellchecker on for the this one! :)

An . . . "absinthe party." In the background, one can see a fair amount of "The National Alaskan Mpingo Forest." (Also known as "grenadilla wood" or "African blackwood"--mpingo trees are what highfalutinsp clarinets are made of.  (I know. I know . . . a sentence ending in a preposition. . . .)) If one is actually able to get out and do stuff in Alaska--one never quite knows just what one will end up doing. . . .  :)

Bush covered with icicles: Icicles in the [Alaskan] Interior are actually quite rare.  (It is usually too bugger-all cold for them to form.  :P ) Conditions were just right, this year.  (. . .)

I have no explanation for this one---healthy, green plants--merrily growing, surrounded by snow and in sub-freezing temperatures.  (??) This picture was taken on October 25, 2004.

On to more Alaska pics.
