      7/9/05 The almost perpetual forest fires (or so it seems, anymore :P ) in Alaska, can make for some VERY impressive sunsets:

      7/11/05 Robert took me out back, to where he had all sorts of plywood stored.  (Apparently, no small amount of it came from the aforementioned transfer sites.  He told me outright that I had to own property, before I could consider collecting such things.  :) ) When we started to take it apart, we found the teeming ant colony shown below:



      He told me how, just a few feet away and a few years ago, in the other part of his yard, he witnessed an ant war.  It went on for days.  "It was amazing."
